Valentine's Day
« on: February 15, 2007, 08:22:30 PM »
Did anyone do anything nice for Valentine's Day?

I made a chocolate fondue for the family (never have done a fondue of any kind before) I made some angel food cake and brownies to chunk up and dip in, along with apples, strawberries, pinapples, grapes, bananas and cantaloupe pieces.

It was a lot of mess but everyone felt special and that's what it's all about.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Bless you Diane. I fear, however, that you are about hear a litany of pathetic and unromantic stories from ordinary, unattractive and unloved men.

Hit it, boys.

I think Valentine's Day is becoming too commercial, what with all these Santas and carols and whatnot. I prefer to be original, so I celebrate "The tenth day after Valentine's Day" instead.

My wife and I only got each other a card for Valentine's day

The reason for this is simple, it's our 15 wedding anniversary on the 22nd
of this month. (Feb)

Thats when she can spoil me rotten  ;D

That's very thoughtful. You would be being sexist if you spoiled her every year. You must be one of these "new men".

Yes. I did a fab Chinese for a bird of mine. I even successfully did the egg-fried rice, which is a skill in itself! She said it couldn't have been more perfect (the evening, not my body), so that's a few brownie-points earned.

I'd like to know why you can't get multi-packs of Valentine's Day cards, like you can with Xmas cards. It'd make it cheaper for love-gods such as me.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Probably because even Hallmark aren't that crass.

These "birds" you mention: Do you have an aviary?
