Why do we say hemisphere, and not semispere?
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

I'm surprised you even know such a big word.

Why is the abbreviation "www" three times longer (9 syllables) than "world wide web"?
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

I apologise, in advance.

Well personally, I use it because it tends to work. I did once try typing "lentils" in place of "www" in web addresses, but enjoyed only limited success.

Limited success?
Would you care to expand on that?

BBC Radio Five Live refer to Five Live Sports Extra as their sister station.
I think this is sex discrimination; it should be referred to as their sibling station.
I've told them so no end of times, but do they listen?

Great point, Fydo. I think you should make a citizen's arrest of the BBC. They're getting away with far too much lately - a line must be drawn.
I apologise, in advance.

Fydo, I think this is called sarcasm - subtly hidden, but definitely sarcasm.

Thanks a million, Vulch. There I was blissfully residing in Compliment City, only to be handed a one-way ticket to Disillusionville.
