A Nostalgic Night On YouTube.
« on: December 08, 2008, 09:07:48 PM »
At this time of year, I tend to get a wee bit nostalgic. Also, a couple of glasses of wine with me dinner didn't help. Anyway, I decided to trawl through YouTube and this was my playlist....
Stand By Me....Ben E. King.
Stand By Me...John Lennon.
Nothing Rhymed...Gilbert O' Sullivan.
Homburg...Procol Harum.
A Whiter Shade Of Pale...Procol Harum.
At Seventeen...Janis Ian.
(This is an absolute girly song but I still love it and the lyrics are terrific).
Alone Again, Naturally...Gilbert O' Sullivan.
(Okay, by this time, I was about to slash my wrists so I upped the tempo).
Let Your Love Flow...The Bellamy Brothers.
A Little Bit Is Better Than Nada...Um. Forget.
You Can Call Me Al...Paul Simon.
All You Ever Do Is Let Me Down...The Mavericks.
Pinball Wizard...The Who.
Lola...The Kinks.
Here Comes The Sun...The Beatles.

And now, I Feel Fine! (The Beatles).

It's amazing how several of your choices are my faves too, Roger. I'm thinking 'Homburg", "A Whiter Shade of Pale", "Lola" and "Nothing Rhymed" particularly.

I have a few Procol Harum albums, including "The Well's On Fire" - their latest. I'll find a track off that - meanwhile here's one from the Easybeats:

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

And look how pop-stars age... (Another of my favourites).

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟
