Have we got any budding Masterchefs on this forum?

If you were cooking a meal on there, what would you do?
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

I'd do my signature dish, beef and bean pie.

Can of beans (Heinz)
Can of beef (Baxters)
Lightly boil in pot
Pour into pie dish
Cover with thin slice of frozen pastry.

Bake till pastry rises.

Serve with microwave-in-bag veggies.

Total cooking time 5-7mins

Mmmm, just like mum used to make.

I cooked this week!

I made toad-in-the-hole on Monday and yesterday I made a whole turkey pan full of lasange. There was enough food there to feed about 15 generous size portions and yet there wasn't enough left over for supper tonight. My teenage boys are like locusts.

I too am a Heinz beans fan - I only like the ones in tomato sauce - keep that blob of pork fat away from me!

I think I will try your beef pie - I don't have canned beef but have some mince defrosted.

Good topic Peeps!

I'd be very interested in how that mince and bean pie goes!

I thinking about it - I might make meatloaf instead - it has been the week of homey meals. It warmed up today (after 4 weeks) and we now have -15c. Yippy!

I offer my warming bowl of watercress soup. It's easy.
Peel and chop a small onion and a large potato. Chuck in a pan with a wee bit of olive oil. Add a packet of supermarket ready-washed watercress and stir. Pour in a litre of boiling water and add one or two chicken stock cubes. Simmer for half an hour, take off the heat and blitz. That's it.

Great recipe, Fydo. I'm going to try that one.
I apologise, in advance.
