Thanks, Diane - at least you care!  :-*

Peeps, Lucy and Joshua are probably still wending their merry way towards the ferry as I type, but let me tell you the weekend has been an outstanding success. We raised loads of money for lunch, along with the roof of the Brimfield village hall. Peeps and I, being instrumental illiterates, managed to hog the microphones for most of the event, and I think it's safe to say that everyone there, without exception, commented on the fact that they'd never heard the like before.

I hope to have official photographs from the gig available as soon as they get back from the chemist, so watch this space, and give thanks to Diane for her sterling efforts.

There were so many highlights, but I think one of the abiding memories of the day will be my duet with Peeps, singing 'Dedicated Follower Of Fashion' by The Kinks. I confess, I was still in some doubt about Peepsie's karaoke abilities prior to this weekend, wondering if indeed he may have been exaggerating his own talents. I'm in absolutely no doubt now.

I had taken my new harmonica (tambourines are for sissies) which Sam had bought me for my recent birthday, and which came with a tutorial DVD that promised to have me "wailing like a pro in no time" (I kid you not), and I had also invested in a 'Stylophone' application for my iPhone which turned it into an authentic replica of the classic Rolf Harris-endorsed 70s instrument, but such was the demand for me and Peepsie to entertain with our vocal chords, both were kept under wraps.

We all enjoyed a delightful pub meal post gig, and since I wasn't driving home last night, I even treated myself to a couple of pints of Guinness, while Peepsie enjoyed a couple of bottles of red wine.

Hope you all got home safely, old chum - it was a pleasure as always, and a delight to finally meet Lucy and Joshua.

I apologise, in advance.

Damn, I'm envious. I was trying to pretend I'd didn't care about missing out but it sounds great and I can't wait to see the photos. I REALLY hope there is one of the Peeps/Tarks duet!

Thanks Tarquin. It was certainly a lot of fun!

However, I think your mentioning that I had a couple of bottles of red wine with the evening meal could damage my reputation. Didn't you see that I poured a couple of pints of Marstons Pedigree down my throat too? They'll think I'm a big girlie...  ..0

Back to the jam session - it went really well. I was surprised that Tarquin was keen to sing. However, he certainly entertained the audience. It's always good to see people laughing heartlily.

It was also great to see Sam and the children. Sam was looking as lovely as always, although she spent much of the afternoon in the village hall kitchen, keeping on top of the washing-up, her arms in the sink.

It's a sight like that which makes you feel that all is right with the world.

I was kept informed, by Tarquin's batphone, of the insults thread. Having assessed the power of these insults, I can only assume you'll all be attempting to punch your ways out of wet paper bags next...  ..0

After reading your post, Peeps, my official photographer (Sam) rushed me this snap to post, along with her observation about men who wear horizontally striped jumpers...

I apologise, in advance.

My computer was buggered for this weekend, so I missed all the fun. Also, our football games were rained off, so it was a dead loss all round.

I'm working on my Obama caricatures, by the way. I get a bit anal about political caricatures, and try ever so hard to make sure I get their features "right" in a slick kind of way. That doesn't mean I want to spend all bloody weekend practising, but that's basically what I ended up doing.

Wish I'd been at Ludlow.

Hi Tarks, lovely meeting you , Sam and the kids. Josh and I enjoyed our stay in Ludlow. It's wonderful to meet musically talented "artist". Have you ever thought releasing an album with Peeps? With the right marketing it could be a hit!

Malc, I wish you'd been there too.

Lucy, I had no idea you were as tone deaf as me. It's a thought though, isn't it? We could also sign up Roger, Mince and Malc to become an old-boy-band. Vestlife springs to mind.
I apologise, in advance.

Dementia springs to my mind

That, simply and brilliantly, has to be the title of our first album.
I apologise, in advance.

Funnily enough, I was involved in a discussion recently (beer had been taken) about possible names for ageing rockers. Here are some I remember...
The Combovers.
The Waning Libidos.
The Dodgy Bladders.

Excellent, Roger! The names Donaldson and Digby weren't party to this discussion by any chance?
I apologise, in advance.

I watched The Bucket List last night - that show would give you enough material for your second and third albums.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad
