Gee, thanks, Diane. I'd always been very fond of February, and now you've just gone and killed it for me.

Spelt funny... like January isn't? 

It is a quirky month, February. Odd in the fact that almost every four years it has 29 days, whereas all of the other months have 29ths all the time.

I've done a bit of research into February, here's what I have found:

• Named after the Latin Februalia, a time during which sacrifices were made
  February 2008 had 5 Fridays. The most recent year before that in which February comprised five Fridays was in 1980, and the next occurrence will be in 2036.
  The longest time between two leap years is eight years. The last time that occurred was between 1896 and 1904. The next time will be between 2096 and 2104.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a poem about February yet.
