Shipwrecked.
« on: April 02, 2009, 08:54:41 PM »
Picture the scene. The Beau Peep Forum Regulars are on their maiden world cruise when disaster strikes. The pedalo...er...liner sinks and we find ourselves marooned on a desert island. What do we do and who does what? I'm pretty sure that The Peepmaster will decide to eat Mince on the first morning but that really isn't a great help. Diane gets my vote for President as she appears to have a remarkable talent for all things practical and spiritual while coping with a hostile environment. Zesty is our scientific man so I'd like him to organise the best ways of being rescued. Colin, if I remember correctly, has military experience so he can do the hunter-gathering bit while I will be in charge of whimpering. But, hey...this is a democracy. What do YOU think? What can YOU offer?

You'd feel right at home, Roger, what with there being no technology to bemuse you.

That's true! I can see a whole "Admirable Crichton" thing kicking off. To hell with Diane---I'm President!

I will be your Man Friday Roger ? the rest of the week I will be President.

Mince will be going crazy because of the lack of technology so he and Nige can make a string can phone line; it will work to keep them well separated and both at the far ends of the island where they won?t be a bother.

With all Andrew has to say ? he can be Wilson.

Joan ? being from a hot dry climate can show us how to make dessert from the desert.

With Tarquin?s skill at quizzes ? he can be in charge of the sandwiches.

Rob can be the ship?s captain log book recorder.

Vulture, Lucy and Heather led by the belly-dancing Elizabeth can make themselves some cute coconut and grass skirt outfits for the evening performance of ?Dancing with the Survivors?.

Tom, being 147 years old, will need to be careful he doesn?t get mistaken for firewood.

Peter can be in charge of the sweeties.

Max can be in charge of shelter building.

Jack being the most practical can make the SOS beacon.

Zesty White and Colin can build us a helicopter made out of bamboo.

Diamond Lil can be the island nurse ? go to her if you need a Band-aid.

Malc can be a sarcastic git sometimes can?t he?
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

 ;D

I'm glad you didn't include me in the grass skirt brigade, Diane.  My legs aren't what they used to be. No hot, dry climate here at the moment.  We've just had a three day deluge in Sydney and the northern NSW coast has been declared a disaster area - major flooding after fierce storms, with more on the way.  This is a land of extremes.

Just because you know some big words does not mean that you get to work on the helicopter - unless it is on Fridays; Roger is an old softy and will let you do what you like.

Joan, Lil Vulch and Diane will form my harem, and the rest of you can work on getting off the island all you like, me and the girls are staying.

We'll live on roasted coconuts and raw sex.

I suspect it may well be your coconuts that'll be getting roasted, Malc.

I'm not interested, and I've got a headache anyway.

I wish I hadn't participated in this thread - I dreamt about making my own helicopter and getting shot at while I was trying to get it off the ground. I am quite worn out today.
