Celtic v Dundee Utd

I was watching the play-off semi second-leg, but also had an eye on Celtic v Dundee Utd last night. I thought you played well, Roger, and were unlucky to come off losing.

We wuz robbed by the green and white Weegies yet again. It looks like McDonald might get his just desserts, though---there's to be a retrospective look at his assault on our captain, the dainty Lee Wilkie.
On a similar note, I was in a taxi today which was being driven by a former Scottish Internaional and Dundee United legend. (He also played for Celtic (briefly), Dundee, Nottingham Forest and Coventry). And a jolly nice chap he is, too.

Notice if you take out "(briefly)", the sentence still makes sense. But if you take out the larger bracket, there's a stray full stop. What more proof do you need?

You win, Tarks. I've actually met him a few times and he's a genuinely nice guy, without an ounce of pomposity about him. (This is a guy who played for Scotland and was in the Dundee United side that beat Barcelona home and away in '87). He's currently combining taxi-driving with managing East Stirling and doing a remarkable job at the latter. And the former, I might add! He has some wonderful tales about Brian Clough and football, in general. He also gives me a discount.

A great pro with tremendous flair as I recall, Roger - though I probably wasn't thinking quite those things on the frequent occasions he cracked in a goal against St Johnstone. I admit I had to check up on East Stirling's current league status, but I'm suitably impressed that they are still in the hunt for promotion. Fingers crossed!

Hmmm - just checked Jim McInally's stats, and it appears that in his 284 games for United he only scored 12 goals (in fact, he only bagged 14 in his entire pro career). At least one of them must have been against St Johnstone...surely??!
