Oh God, no, Tom, don't use a sun bed.  You need to live in Oz for a while, then you'll realise just what a tan does for you - not good!

A garden is nice, but not half an acre, which is what we have.

Seeing as you've all gone off to get on with your days, I'm going to finish mine by watching a wee bit more of Colin, and then going to bed.

Good night all.

Not having a garden wins for me, I think. I can use a sunbed!

You can't plant vegetables in a sunbed, Tom.

Now that Joan's gone to bed, can we discuss Colin Firth? You know. in a manly, objective way. Isn't he a bit of a wimp?

Aha Roger! I'm up again before you got any manly, objective opinions.  Although I would have thought they would be extremely subjective.

Why would he be a wimp?  Because Mark Darcy is handy in the kitchen?  I've heard tell you're handy in the kitchen and that does not you a wimp make, methinks.  I don't know about the man himself, but I can't think of any of his characters where he doesn't play a strong, decisive man - at least in the end, anyway.  I've only seen two or three of his films, though.  Haven't even seen the famous Pride and Prejudice.  Now, if you'd picked on Hugh Grant, I might have been more inclined to agree with you.

Joan, you have to see Pride and Pred - as Mr Darcy, Colin is dark and broody;  he makes me wish I was 40 years younger! He could teach me to swim anyday!  ..0 ..0

Couldn't Mince give you lessons instead?

I have never been able to see the appeal of Colin Firth for the life of me. I know it's a woman thing, but I can see the appeal of Sean Connery and that guy from Ocean's Eleven, etc, so I'm not completely myopic in these matters.

Ladies, what is the attraction in this bloke? And don't say "dark and broody and rides a horse well", Ringwraiths are dark and broody and ride horses well, but no-one fancies them.

I too fancy Firth.

Can anyone remember which movie he was in when he was in a bathtub?

To answer Malc: It is probably the poofy white Seinfield pirate shirt he wore in Pride and Predudice

I'm not that gaga about him - I'd take Sean or George (rather have George than Brad, but wouldn't say no to him either) any day over Colin, apart from the wet shirt, which I haven't seen, I think he gives off an air of being a bit naughty, dirty even,  :o underneath that stiff upper lip exterior.

PS I still can't get a preview from the full reply screen - get one from the quick reply, nor can I quote properly.

If we must have photographic stills of lathered-up film stars, can I request the one from Cool Hand Luke?
I apologise, in advance.
