What a wonderful little star
« on: May 23, 2009, 08:03:40 PM »
I just noticed that this part of the song "What a wonderful world":

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see em bloom..... for me and for you

is just Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Are you all tone deaf?

I see

trees of = Twinkle

green = twinkle

red roses = little

too = star

I see em = How I

bloom = wonder

for me and for = what you

you = are

I'm with Pilch. It's the same tune. (That little snippet.)

I sang last night, but have decided to have tonight off. I'm now going through the various stopping-off points on my Far-East tour next month. I'm doing Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Manila, Puerto Galera, Dumaguete, (hopefully a few other places along the way), and finishing off at BORACAY! Can't wait.

You're both nuts. Count and compare the syllables for a kick-off, then the gaps, the rhythm and the notes.

You've just forced the comparison on the grounds that there's a very vague similarity, if you ignore all of the above.

And apart from that, you're denigrating one of the all-time great songs by attempting to imply it plagiarises a, quite frankly, pants nursery rhyme. You ought to be thoroughly ashamed.
I apologise, in advance.

I didn't say it plagiarises Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

I reckon he nicked the tune from Baa Baa Black Sheep.

I had to admit it's the same sequence of notes, Tarks. It's done differently, of course, but is still the same tune.

Sing the sequence from Wonderful World and substitute the Twinkle Twinkle words. You'll see what I mean.

It's not the same sequence. It may follow the same route, but the notes do not correspond exactly. Ergo, it's a different tune.
I apologise, in advance.
