Just to keep us going
« on: May 28, 2009, 05:41:31 PM »
Roger, since you're off on holiday for a few weeks, I think you ought to make a few extra topics before you go.

I have some suggestions for topics here:

1. something to do with morons and stupidity - but try to avoid the obvious, so nothing about Peepmaster;

2. another of your victories with technology - have you mastered any of the Fisher Price toys yet?;

3. debunking some wild claim (avoiding Loch Ness monster - remember last time?).

Well, firstly, I'm off on holiday for ONE week, my first break since last October. I'm not a teacher, you know---I can't just swan off for months at a time.
Secondly, your jibes about my technological abilities are both tiresome and innacurate. I have mastered ALL the Fisher Price toys. Well, with the exception of the multi-level garage. I defy ANYONE to get that stupid lift to work.
As for leaving some topics for you to discuss, well, there are one or two things I find annoying which you're welcome to mull over...
People who pronounce the letter "H" as "haitch".
Towns and cities that re-introduce cobbled streets. Given that we've mastered tarmacadam, I can only assume that these places have a competition going to see how many of their citizens can break an ankle.
The impending return of "Big Brother" to our T.V. screens. I would say more about this but I loathe the whole concept so much that I can't be bothered. Ditto "Britain's Got Talent" and virtually anything else on T.V. at the moment.

People who pronounce the letter "H" as "haitch".  Thank you, Roger. I get pi$$ed off with these people, too!

Did it take you long to master the first one and were you ever late getting to work as a result?

I meant when he was young. And I think the insinuation from you that Roger did not master any of the Fisher Price toys until he began working from home is deeply insulting.
