Diane, I know you're still on painfully slow dial-up, but trust me, this one's worth waiting for.
I apologise, in advance.

Lucy's brief comment before my start wasn't very nice!

Bute's Got Talent! Where's Simon Cowell when you need him?

You're so kind, Tarquin. I'm glad Lucy took these videos, because it allows me to study my performances closely, to see if I can detect any imperfections. (My trained ear will spot "faults" that others probably wouldn't). I did come in a fraction too late at one point in video number 2 for example, but I think I got away with it. Basically, my voice was loud enough to drown out any heckling.

Incidentally, I wonder if I sound any better sober?

Nige, I think that, without doubt, this is the Beau Peep site's finest moment. You were superb. The gentle swaying, the dramatic, slightly paused delivery of lyrics and, last but not least, that moment in the second video where you actually find the right key. I love you.

Thanks, Roger. It's not as easy as I make it look to be honest. To be successful in singing these days you have to retain youthful good looks, have bags of energy, talent in abundance, get the timing spot-on, and be pitch perfect.

I was up at 4:00 AM and am now going to have a nap - I will leave the comuter to download the utube video. Please let me know if anyone phones whilst I'm napping.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

That was superb Nige!

If you want a tip ? in the first video you could have took poetic licence and changed the woman?s name of the face you want to paint from ?Rosie? to ?Lucy?.  That would have been romantic. Other than that though, you have it all going for you.

Unfortunately, I was not aware that you put two music videos out in the very same week and did not download the second one during naptime.

Several years after Don Partridge had a hit with "Rosie", I was standing in line outside a Leicester Square cinema, waiting to see Ken Russell's "The Devils". The busker who entertained us was...er...Don Partridge, singing "Rosie". I always thought that was kind of sad.

That was uncharacteristically mean of you, Peter - don't go giving Malcolm any more ammunition for his crackpot conspiracy theory than he has already amassed.

Incidentally, I wonder if I sound any better sober?

You, or your audience?

(It is, however, not uncharacteristic for me to be mean.)
I apologise, in advance.

Wasn't he played by David Cassidy?
