Oh, and don't tell me that isn't Rock 'n' Roll. It is.

It's certainly up there, but Won't Get Fooled Again has to be number 1.

I prefer Tina's Proud Mary (live version) backed by her two beautiful girl singers, one white, one black, like gorgeous angry ponies, with the white girl's long blond hair flying around. Oh what the hell, here it is.

Here's a much newer version, with Tina's number 1 fan "Donovan", a young black guy (and obviously as gay as a tree full of parrots) who had memorised every step and was asked to come up on stage to join in.

 Brilliant!

I've stumbled across a really good version (in my opinion) of 'Simply the best', sung by Celine Dion. I tried to post it here but ended up with it appearing twice surrounded by gobbledegook. I'd like you to see it, so here it is (and if someone can tidy this up I'd be very appreciative...)

All done, Tom.

You're welcome.

I enjoyed that more than I expected to, Tom. I started watching Celine Dion's version of 'River Deep, Mountain High' earlier, after Roger's initial post, but found it very tough going. This was much better. Mind you, I wasn't best pleased with the Tina Turner version of River Deep that Roger posted I have to say (hence my visit to YouTube to find a better one) - I think she was trying too hard in that one, if that's possible for Tina Turner. It is one of my all-time favourite songs though, and one I loved ice skating to as a youth (none of yer Torville & Dean's of course - I just mean raw speed).

I have to say how much admire your courage though, Tom - can't have been easy for a Celtic supporter to post that song.

Donovan was pure magic!
I apologise, in advance.

Erm, yes it wasn't?

Celine recently finished a huge engagement in Vegas - she had one of the longest runs ever at Caesar's Palace or somewhere.
One feature of her sellout show was her singing a duet with Elvis. No, not an Elvis impersonator. Elvis.

It's find-able on You Tube, I saw it some time ago and it's impressive.

Malc. I would never argue with you about anything by The Who---a band I've seen live twice (when all the original members were alive).
The "Proud Mary" clip with Donovan the fan joining Tina on stage is great---but there is not a snowball's chance in Hell that it was as spontaneous as they're trying to make out.

I'm doing a stunning version of "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" these days.

Unfortunately, it's not on video yet.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

I think you're right about Donovan, you have to read between the lines. My guess is that he's a genuine fan, and yes he did stand there show after show in the mosh pit copying the dancers so that they noticed him. However, I reckon that's where a little pre-planning came into play. I'm pretty sure the dancers took him through his paces first in rehearsal, at least once if not a few times before Tina gave him the call.

OK, these weren't originally written as rock songs per se, but you'd never know thanks to these great performances by the brilliant  'Sensational Alex Harvey Band'..

Thanks, Rob. I'd not seen (or heard) 'Next' before. That was riveting! I'm off to the iTunes store...
I apologise, in advance.
