H1N1
« on: October 27, 2009, 09:31:14 PM »
My boys have probably got the H1N1 flu – one third of the school is off sick, 97% of those tested were confirmed H1N1; Awards night is postponed. The health unit said if you have had flu like symptoms you've probably had it or have it as the case may be.

Here's hoping for a swift recovery, Diane.

And from me.
Despite the publicity, this does not appear to be a particularly severe strain of flu. Still----not pleasant.

Thanks guys, the boys have been sicker other years with colds and flu. One thing with this one seems to be the lingering tiredness. I think they are both going back tomorrow.

The lingering tiredness, theirs from the flu or yours from looking after them?  ;D

Not really 100% yet but thanks for thinking of us.  ;D

A 50 year old man from town died so people are taking it a bit more seriously now.

Simmering on the stove is my flu-germ-buster sauce: One whole large onion, 1 whole bulb of fresh garlic, one can of diced tomatoes, I can of tomato sauce with a dash of Italian seasoning!  (To be served tonight over Italian sausages; brown rice with carrots, broccoli and red peppers.)

Glad to hear you're getting through this, Diane - hope it's not long before it's all behind you. As a 50-year-old man who has just today received notice from my local surgery that I should make an appointment for my free H1N1 flu jab (I had a little heart thing five years ago, so I get these things on the NHS), I'll be on the phone to them first thing in the morning.
I apologise, in advance.

That reminds me. I still haven't posted my waste-matter off.

It seems it always gets snowy for Halloween and this year is no exception. Other years it was a nuisance when my daughter wanted to be princess or a fairy in lightweight outfits - this year she is a zombie which is ideally suited for cold weather - but now I don't want to go door to door with all the germy people in town.  ..0

I think the sauce is a flu-busting winner – so will put onions, garlic and tomatoes in what I cook tonight too.  ;D
