The 2009 Christmas competition is now closed:

There were seven entries; they were all just really, really, really super and it has kept me up late tossing and turning whittling them down to just one winner.

I have PM’d Roger with the winning entry.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Oh, great - now we'll never know. Didn't you have any carrier pigeons, Diane?
I apologise, in advance.

Mark Peepmaster down on his entry because he took too long and because he's a twat.

Says King Twat, with an O-level in Twatology, an A-Level in Twatography, and a Masters Degree in Twatism, who's the twattiest twat in Twat Mansions, Twat Avenue, Twatminster, Twatland. ..0

I just realised, I missed off the County (Twatshire), and Post Code, (TWA TTY)

I have received the PM from Diane and replied. Hah! I felt that she should be the one to announce the winner as the competition has been organised by her. I will, of couse, then get in touch with the person concerned and send off the prize.

I was going to complain about all these insults but I can't really. I can still see the look on my daughter's face recently when I mentioned something I'd heard on the wireless.

And the winner is...

Tom!

Let's recap his entry:
Quote
Buttered Button Brussels Sprouts

A simple, but easy vegetarian option for those who would like to do other things than cooking elaborate, expensive and time consuming meals. They are extremely versatile, and make delicious starters, main courses, and a nice savoury twist to a sweet. Blended, they make a wonderful soup, which can also double for a gravy, or a sauce, to pour over the unblended sprouts. They are very filling, but too many may cause a slight discomfort within the bowels.

Well done, Tom! PM me with your postal address and I'll get a couple of originals off to you, along with a crisp Scottish tenner. Are you happy with one Beau and one Horace or would you prefer two of the same strip? Let me know.

Yes, many congratulations, Tom.

I really wish I'd entered my Crispy Caramalised Carrot Cuttings idea now...
