The New and Improved Christmas Competition for 2009
« on: November 12, 2009, 03:35:27 PM »
What with the foul language, bad sportsmanship, ratting-out, general bitching and locking of the forum – the Christmas competition has been amended.

The New and Improved Christmas Competition for 2009

Your task: Plan the menu for the Fort’s Christmas Dinner

Extra points will be awarded for those including Brussels Sprouts.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

>Grumble<
I've spent all afternoon trying to think up a witty, festive and relevant song for my pantomime finale... and now find I've got to think of food.

I suppose it's a good job that I couldn't think of anything this afternoon  ;D

Now... food...

Diane, I think you've made a wise decision. The original competition basically required four months work, three writers and an orchestra.
This is much better!
OO, can I enter this year? And when's the closing date?

Closing Date: December 6th - midnight GMT

Prize: (The prize will be the usual original artwork of Beau and/or Horace plus a Scottish tenner)

Winner announced: December 7th

Banned from entering this year: Roger and Diane only - this is one year for Mince, Tarqs and Nige and Diamond Lil to enter as I am not related to any of them even though I do have a soft spot for Nige - to be fair I will take any Brussels Sprouts bonus points off of his entries.

And I've already hired a bollock-naked orchestra. What a waste!

You could make Spaghetti Bollock-Naked, as a main course for the Xmas menu.

Oh bollocks! I was looking forward to some gratuitous nudity - I'd say deducting points would be an incentive around here.  A few chuckles would have been good for me, don't you think?  ;) Naked food doesn't have quite the same effect.

The last three posts have turned this competition into a bollock-fest - control your bloody selves! It's too early in the morning!!

Starter: Mince soup, and a bottle of sherry.

Main course: A bit like the traditional turkey with stuffing, but it's mince. With mince stuffing. Rounded out with a couple of bottles of sherry.

Dessert: A brussel sprout, painted to look like a small christmas pudding. And a bottle of sherry.

I'm a bit disturbed by the term "Foam De Egon". The French normally dress up disgusting imagery better than that.

STARTER: burnt water and poached leftovers from yesterday's leftovers

MAIN COURSE: grilled toenails in camel spit, Dennis' slugs sauteed in boot polish

DESERT: arm-pit sweat ice cream

Phew, I thought you were going to include Brussels Sprouts in your menu for a moment. They're disgusting!

Why are they called Brussels Sprouts? Did someone named Brussels first discover them? They come in all shapes and sizes so they can't be European. Buttered Button Brussels Sprouts are my favourite.
