Exciting World Cup Draw...

England in same group as USA so far...

Apparently, England cannot play Argentina until the final now.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Group C: ENGLAND, United States, Algeria, Slovenia

I wonder who we'll actually play in the Final...

I had a look at the draw and I think if Scotland had made it then we'd obviously have replaced North Korea as the whipping boys of the group of death ...

Ok, Malc, tell me which teams Australia is playing against.  Can't be bothered looking it up and I didn't see the news yesterday.

Joan, Australia is in with Serbia, Germany and Ghana. It could be a very good World Cup for us (I'm all Australian now, in the absence of Scotland to cheer on) as they are capable of beating all three of those teams. Germany are notorious for getting through even if they have a crap team (by their standards) but Germany in Africa? Hmmm, I suspect they won't travel well.

Never write off the Germans, Malc. Nor Ghana for that matter - one of the best of the African teams, and the only one to have ever progressed beyond the group stages of the finals I think. Come to think of it, Serbia topped their qualifying group, with a point more than France. Australia have their work cut out for them, and this is no Mickey Mouse group like England's. However, word is that Mark Viduka is looking to sign up with an Australian side in order to prove his fitness before selection for the finals, so there is hope...

Not that I'm remotely interested in any of it.
I apologise, in advance.

Zesty,
IF Scotland had made it I think they may well have been the whipping boys of a group including San Marino, Liechtenstein and a well-coached girl scout eleven.

It would be good to think of them having some kind of title though.
