Achmed

Has anyone not seen Jeff Dunham and Achmed the Dead Terrorist?

I wonder if Achmed is the Nomad?

I know there was a problem of sorts about the Nomad - Roger will know more.

I didn't watch the sketch after about 20 seconds because I'm not keen myself on racial stereotyping, and the concept I felt was in bad taste. That's not your fault - it's out there in the public domain.

It'll make for some interesting discussion anyway - a change from the rubbish we normally spout!

Then you don't want to listen to him singing 'Jingle Bombs'.

re racial stereotyping - what about the Vultures - they seem to get a bad press.

I may be over sensitive, but our stats show that the greatest number of visitors we get to this website, after the UK, are from the Indian sub-continent.

I'm also careful not to offend 2 contributors to this forum, namely my bird, Lucy, and an old dear from London, who are both Asian, albeit from S E Asia.

Ironically the latter is "Vulture"!

Bilthehut, I don't understand your connection between racial stereotyping and vultures. As for The Nomad, he is...well...a nomad, a wandering North African tribesman. And a lovable idiot.

I just checked the stats today - India isn't 2nd at the moment - it's USA.

Understood and accepted.

Vultures always seem to get a bad press, yet they serve a valuable purpose in nature.  Apart from looking not that nice, when compared to most birds of prey.

I have always loved the Nomad's attempts to get into the fort, particularly when someone knocked his ladder down.

That's weird! Beau Peep doesn't even appear there. Do these stats give actual numbers, Peeps? I mean, could half a dozen be enough to register?

Nige should get an award for being gender, age and racially sensitive – he can manage to insult all three simultaneously – doesn’t leave anyone out our dear Nige.  :-* ;D
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

I'm a little concerned about the member swimming for his/her life in the South Atlantic Ocean off the Nigerian coast. But at least they're bang on the Equator, so I bet the weather's nice.
I apologise, in advance.

Sorry, Vulch - I didn't know you were from Liverpool. I don't want to embarrass you by changing it now, so I'll put "Old dear from Liverpool" next time.
