I thought I'd just annoy the non-football lovers by telling Peeps about one of our local clubs, Brisbane Wolves, as he might like to support them as well as the UK version.

Wolves are in the Brisbane Premier League, and in 2009 defeated my (then) home team Capalaba in the nearest thing we have to the FA Cup, the Grand Final.

I get phone calls from all over the world from fans asking me what I am doing this season? Well, my two youngest sons are at different clubs, the older one is playing at Redlands, the younger of the two is playing at Rochedale (yes, that is the correct spelling) and so I had nothing to do for the year until I was offered the Director of Junior Coaching job at Rochedale, which is handy, as I am driving McGookin Minor there anyway. I think they sort of banked on that, plus no-one else wanted the job.

Do you actually get paid to coach?

That would be cool.

Yes, I do. I'm not actually worth the money, but keep it quiet. I figure by the time they figure it out, I'll be in the Cayman Islands.

Hopefully as the national team manager.
