Feather. Thank you. I did have fun (of sorts) moving furniture, dismantling a bed, hoovering (or should it be Kirby-ing), and general rearrangement of 6 years of static mess. We now have a bedroom that looks like a read bedroom, rather than a junk room. This service quarter I am in has a flat roof and no attic, so storage space is markedly absent. But, the room was restored to full operating efficiency by 1800hrs - and looks rather nice with the new bed in. Just have to wait now for the waterbed insert to arrive in the next week.
I do, however, have sad news to convey to you all (especially Peeps). In my efforts to clean the room, one of my Beau Peep Mugs (#2)(which was carrying out its duties as Tea monitor) met with a serious accident. Ever faithful, it had discharged its immediate task of holding my tea and was empty, standing by to be refilled, when it had a sudden nervous breakdown whilst watching me empty the bedroom (might have thought I would leave it behind and move out - or it could have just been knocked over?). In the end it leaped off the window sill onto the floor, sustaining a very serious injury to the handle, which has broken in two separate pieces. While I do have the technology to rebuild it, it is still a risk for the future. I have had a good talk with it and offered it a medical discharge from Tea Duties and employment as a pen holder. It has agreed to undergo surgery to remove any sharp edges (Health and Safety rules must apply here) and then will have pride of place on my desk. Meanwhile, Beau Peep mug #3 has been drafted into use. ( Logistician to the end - spares already available)
