Your imagination shouldn't have to run very wild, Diane - budgie smugglers is an Australian slang term for Speedos.
There's actually a brand of swimmers called Budgy Smugglers.
When it decides to rain in Australia, it really
rains. Land of extremes. We even had a twister in Eastern Sydney yesterday and the day before a tornado did a lot of damage further up the coast.

The sunny skies are back today. I just looked out and the clouds have all blown away. Doesn't mean they won't come back.
The first two verses of "My Country" by Dorothea Mackellar say it all:
The love of field and coppice,
Of green and shaded lanes.
Of ordered woods and gardens
Is running in your veins,
Strong love of grey-blue distance
Brown streams and soft dim skies
I know but cannot share it,
My love is otherwise.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!Of course, in the first verse she's talking about England, not Scotland!
