Edit: The original strip has changed (I copied the URL and it must update daily). I've added the strip that I thought I'd originally added, so at least the subsequent posts make sense!

I was too busy wondering how he managed to pronounce "Zak".

He's trying to say "Jack", Jack.

I'm puzzled that he can say "machine" okay, which has an "s" sound...

Eh? Only if you pronounce it "masseen".
I apologise, in advance.

Okay - both of you (Bill & Peepsie), I need you to pay close attention to your mouth shape, tongue/teeth position as you contrast the sounds "shhhh" and "ssssss" alternately in quick succession several times out loud.

Only then will you begin to realise you're being as big a berk as you look.  ..0
I apologise, in advance.

Yes, but "Shhhh" starts with the "S" sound, albeit just for a mili-second.

I understood that the accepted written description of words spoken by a snake with a lisp utilized the 'th' in lieu of the 's' sound.  However, as I have never seen a snake with a lisp or watched its mouth form the necessary words, I will bow the the undoubted expert that is Tarks.

And since the snake can pronounce the "z" in "Zak", why can't he pronounce the "z" sound in "straws"? Shouldn't it be thtrawz?

At this stage, I'd like to remind you all that the snake is, in fact, a cartoon.
