Liven it up - musically speaking

I like this song and I like the video. It's so Willy Wonka for 2010.

Sorry the writing is backwards. The other clip did not work - disabled.

Naked women, writhing snakes and sticks of rock. I nearly spilled my cup of tea!

I liked the song up until Snoop Dogg started. The video reminded me of the old Benny Hill / Two Ronnies kind of sketches for some reason. But why was it back to front? How can a You Tube clip (where the logo is the correct way) become back to front?

How many times did you have to watch it, though.

Just once---the symbolism was far too subtle for me.

Snoop Dog's rappish-thing is not on the radio version of the song. This is a catchy tune and one of those "summer songs." The video was clever.

I'm guessing the clip was recorded from television and when posted to YouTube ended up reversed.  It's not evident until you see the Candyland game box and board. The correct version is on YouTube as well.

Loved it.
Love Katy Perry, she's one of those young women who look like they're totally in control of their careers (like Pink), they're doing what they want to do, often writing their own stuff and have genuine talent.

Having said that, I like this a lot, and my students think it's total rubbish.

I cannot comment on whether it's rubbish or not as I don't play a musical instrument, sing, or compose music.  There is not much music around that is universally liked (if at all).  I wouldn't buy it but it's all right.

Who gave you the elbow, Mince?
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Your musical taste certainly is eclectic, Mince, what with Radiohead, Elbow, Marillion and "Golden Ticket."  ;)

I saw Marillion in Poole. Their support band was The Cardiacs (who I have mentioned here before and will keep doing so). Brilliant. Totally blew me away with their musicianship and their stage act, and as a time-served muso/ligger I am not easily blown away.
