Things you never knew about Beau Peep (because they're not true)
1. The reason Egon wears an eyepatch is because in his very first appearance, Andrew accidentally messed up while drawing the eye. Rather than start over, he simply coloured over it and turned it into an eyepatch.
2. Beau Peep was originally called Bert Peep, as evidenced in the early strips. However, the name was changed following complaints by numerous Daily Star readers that "Bert Peep" sounded too much like "Butt Peep", and everybody knows that readers of that fine newspaper are far too classy for fart jokes.
3. Beau Peep once appeared on Page 3 of the Daily Star, when the fort was referred to as "Fort Knocks" (a clever play on "Fort Knox"). The editor of the paper was told about this, but wasn't paying attention,, hearing only the words "strip" and "knockers", and insisted on putting it on page 3. After this embarassment, the fort has never been referred to by name ever since.
Feel free to add to the list, folks.
