Back to books on CD...
« on: May 02, 2011, 12:42:20 AM »
I have recently listened to book #3 and #1 of the Flavia de Luce mystery novels on CD. I am not normally a fan of the murder mystery but these are pretty cool - the heroin is an eleven year old girl and chemistry whiz set in 1950 England.

I have mentioned before that books on CD have ruined print books for me forever.  :)

I guess it's being a chemistry whiz that makes her the heroin.  ;D

I read William Boyd's Any Human Heart recently and thought it was excellent.

I'm sure there should have been some 'e' with that 'heroin'. ;) (perhaps Diane's remarks were written in 'speed')

...or perhaps Diane couldn't be arsed to look it up.

Perhaps it was difficult for her to 'sniff' and type at the same time....?

On the other hand, I find such verbal frankness to be honest and worthy given the subject matter. Go for it Big D.  8)

Ignore him, Diane. You can say what you like on here---particularly as I believe it's your birthday in a couple of days and that allows you to do anything you want.

This past week I was accused by my hubby of being a dog-hoarding (well this one is true really) communist (voted NDP)... and a Buddhist (did a mandala).

I can’t keep everyone happy. I really like being me these days, I shall try not to overtly offend but cannot carry the weight of other people’s expectations around.
