Is it a holiday weekend in your neck of the woods?
« on: September 04, 2011, 02:50:19 AM »
We have Monday off as a stat holiday and it's called "Labour Day". It is the day you are supposed to have off work to gather in your garden and get things like firewood chopped for winter.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

It's a holiday here too tomorrow but not at my work so I'm gearing up for the usual phone calls from patients who are checking to see if we're open but not needing an appointment!

Labour Day always reminds me of my American godmother who used to tell me that correct etiquette was to never wear white shoes after that date  ;D

We had a Bank Holiday last Monday.  However, I still have tomorrow off on leave as I hate Mondays (to quote Garfield).

I am going to make apple pies and burgers and watch the leaves turn colour in front of me.

I live almost alongside some rather nice woods, (Skeoch Woods), and in this necking session, we didn't have a Bank Holiday last Monday because we're Scotland, and we were excluded. I have days off when I feel like it though, and not when dictated by political mandarins, or any other form of duck. There are woods on the other side of Rothesay Bay too. They are called Skipper Woods. People were partying on luxury yachts in the marina last night. We both witnessed it. (I'm talking Lucy, here.)
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

I apologise, in advance.

Whereas, "Dinna roll yir f****** eyes at me, Pal!" should be clearly understood in any country.
I apologise, in advance.

I hope that no ducks were harmed in this rant.

Probably not, but what about all the electrons that have been severely disturbed?
