I stuck this on the CCGB public forum but it applies to my dear friends here too.

One of the most irritating things about writing gag ideas is the little voice at the back of your mind which says "hmmm, is this actually funny?" Wouldn't it be great if, as a cartoonist, you had a load of other cartoonists on tap to run your ideas past and get a verdict? A Gag Idol, in fact.

I thought it would be a good idea to post gag ideas here verbally and see whether they get a number of Smileys or Grimaces before I draw them up.

The rule could be: No comments necessary, and no alternatives offered, because then the "other" person is effectively co-writing your cartoon for you. Just stick a Smiley that best describes your approval, i.e.  ;D or  ;)  or a non-Smiley that best outlines your confusion, disillusion or disapproval, i.e.  :(   >:(  or  :-\

There's never been a buttcheeks that's been open to the elements.   A few compounds, maybe...    :-[
