I noticed that the rec. department is offering “Kinder” gardening – well it turns out this is for people under the age of 6. Disappointed, as I first read it that we were going to be shown ways to be “kinder” to our flowers and veggies. 

Kinder/kinder kinda like Polish/polish.

I used to buy those Kinder eggs for my kids when they were little. Although I believe that you can still buy them here in the U.K., I've heard that they're banned in the States...you know, in case your child lodges one of the plastic toys up their nose or decides to swallow the silver paper they came wrapped in. Kids today! I can't begin to count the number of Lego bricks that passed harmlessly through my system. The yo-yo was a different matter, though.

I do believe Kinder eggs are significantly smaller these days than they used to be. Or maybe I'm just taller than I was when I was seven.

In any case, they're now expensive enough that you're basically just buying a toy for more than it's worth, without knowing what it is, and you can't ever return it to the store because you've eaten the packaging.

Diane, I still don't know if you were making a joke based on it being a kindergarten for children under 6, or if THEY were making that joke and it actually is a gardening course for children under 6. Personally I wouldn't trust a 5 year old with a trowel - under sixes are remorselessly violent.

In any case, I have no interest in being kinder to flowers, as they're certainly not very kind to me during the pollen season. Those green petally gits.

No it's real. A fun filled program - container gardening, nature walks at the trout pond, snacks and drinks provided. It was just my type of thing - wasted on the under six set who would rather play with legos and wait for the daily brief appearance of their yoyos.

At least they're playing with legos, and not "Virtual lego" on their Apple iPad-4-kidz tablets/phones.

No - it's a well-known action figure of an Ancient Greek superhero. He has seven robotic legs.
