Jennifer Aniston and I have broken up.
« on: July 03, 2013, 09:02:52 PM »
It was my decision. I could no longer take the sordid affairs that she embarked upon every year or so...The Bounty Hunter...Horrible Bosses...Wanderlust...the list is endless. A man can only take so much. I tried. God, how I tried. It's over, Jen---I don't love you any more.

On the bright side, I haven't seen any of those films.

She told me to tell you that you had left your toothbrush. Don't bother coming back to pick it up...I'll send it. We're busy.  :P

Really, she is spreading the rumor it is she who has broken up with you! Like anyone is going to believe that!

They have a cake for that...

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

To be fair, she is struggling with the Successful Sit Com Star curse. I can't think of any sit com actors who've subsequently made it in movies. To have you then kick her to the kerb might just put her over the edge.

I can think of a lot who started in sitcoms, but not who have had such a high level of recognition as a sitcom actor.

However, probably the best example I can think of is Will Smith. Also maybe Robin Williams?

Well done, Jack. I'm off to YouTube Mork and Mindy to see if it's as funny as I remember it.   ;D

The annoying thing about Aniston is that she's actually a very good actress, as she proved in one of her early films "The Good Girl". This was a dramatic role and she was excellent---far removed from her "Rachel" character. (Although, of course, she was also excellent in "Friends").
No, my problem is the mind-numbing, god-awful series of rom-coms that's she's churned out since. In many of them, the plots are almost identical.....she pretends a guy is her fiance for social reasons and ends up falling for him....she pretends she's the wife of another guy to help him out and ends up falling for him. Worryingly, as she approaches her mid-forties, she's still playing the wacky twenty-something. More worryingly, her movie publicists promote every new release with photos showing how near-naked she's going to appear in it. (I can't say I have a HUGE problem with this but I'm trying to make a point).
Anyway, like I said, it's over between us. I'm all rom-commed out.

Still time to change the wording before anyone notices, Roger.   :o

Following on from the mug handle loss thread, I thought this one was entitled "Jennifer Aniston and I have broken a cup".
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

"Mug handle loss thread"...is this a variation of "Rock paper scissors"?
