Same Idea cartoons

Often cartoonists come up with the same idea, it's not plagiarism, it's life.
On a USA site it's called "Cartoon Yahtzee".

I notice that UK Daily Express and Daily Mail both have sheep in flooded paddocks being rounded up by sheepdogs in boats.
Any other examples of this image in your paper? It would seem to be a good gag, just wondered if it was too good not to have been thought up by everyone.

It would be funny is some of the sheep were in life-rings, and the dogs were throwing more out from the boats.

As you say, Malc, this kind of thing happens a lot with editorial cartoonists and it's completely understandable. The major news story of the last few days has been the flooding of farmlands and it's a small step for a cartoonist to arrive at a sheepdog-in-a-rowboat scenario. My guess is that a few preliminary sketches featured an ark and things developed from there.
As the worst of the flooding has been in South West England and Wales, the local Scottish papers/cartoonists have pretty much ignored the theme.

I'm sure The Daily Sport could have put a different slant on it. Now there was a paper crammed with quality cartoons.
