I was merely the conduit for the purchase.
Son of 20 is in his 3rd year at uni, with a wee part time job to get some pennies...he runs his own car however and the poor soul is perma-skint. Saving up his spending dosh for the first "lads only" foreign holiday is also killing him.
Daughter of 17, however, appears to be heading for a career in banking rather than journalism, as she can magically produce cash at any given moment...a fact that riles my son no end. He does understand the saving concept, but is just temporarily unable to partake of it.
Result being that upon said trip to supermarket, and upon the lifting of the goods, the question of payment arose and it would have fit my favourite style of BP strip perfectly...
Son....."Did I mention I have no money?"
Son and daughter stare silently at each other. Son, grinning nervously...daughter, eyes narrowed.
Daughter..."I want it back on payday. Not a day later"
Their interaction is a joy to behold, and a source of so much amusement in my life.
