Say what?

What the hell happens to your hearing when you get older? You watch telly one minute and it's at a fine, sensible level, then the next it seems blaring for no bloody reason. Or you set it perfectly and the next thing you can't hear the bloody thing.

If this keeps up, I'm going to wallpaper the TV screen and just stare at the pattern.

Grumph.

I agree.

(You may want to save this post, as it is not often women will say that).
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Are you sure it's not just the difference between program sound and ads sound? There's even a difference between sound levels for talking and sound levels for screaming. I know that sounds obvious, but it's annoying if you're watching telly in bed and you're trying to anticipate the moment that the monster looms out of the darkness.

And tells you to turn the telly down because she's trying to sleep.
