Beep. Beep. Beep. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Me..."I think I might invest in one of those reversing camera thingies".

Son..."I think they'd be excellent".

Me..."Yeah?"

Son..."Yeah. But I'd want the monitor mounted on the back parcel shelf to make it seem more realistic".

My laughter wasn't appreciated. He's a strange boy.

I have found when backing up that it doesn't matter if you are looking backwards if the car is in park or drive. It is unfortunate that cars aren't more intuitive.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

My son tells me there is a car that parks itself. What if it chooses a space you don't want? I'm quite particular about parking spaces.

There's also a car that drives itself. All we need now is a car that BUYS itself and we're sorted.

Car manufacturers seem to place a ridiculous amount of importance on the difference between the accelerator and the brake pedal. This nuance, I admit, rather affected my driving career. At the age of seventeen, I was sitting behind the wheel of my parents' car and gently approaching a wall when I made a random choice of pedals to stamp on. Wrong one. I've never driven since.
Maybe this self-driving car is the answer for me. Does it come with a blow-up chauffeur?

I learned to drive in my dad's car - he had one leg so had the pedals switched for ease of use. Then after I had mastered that, we moved to the new world where people drive on the other side of the road - so there I was driving on the other side of the road sitting in the other side of the car with the pedals the other way around - I did fairly well with that - only drove the wrong way down a road once.

But this is why I can't knit.

I'm guessing you lost your arms in the accident?
