Down Time
« on: October 03, 2015, 05:24:54 PM »
The Beau Peep board has been down twice now for several hours. Apparently our host, the until recently lovely Arvixe, have been acquired by EIG, which might as well stand for Extremely Irritating Gits. If it gets too bad, I will move the site again to a host not owned by EIG.

We can't keep moving every time the authorities give us trouble.

Hang on - wasn't that a line from 'Fiddler On The Roof'?
I apologise, in advance.

I saw that in a theatre with Paul Michael Glaser as Tevye.

It's one of my all-time favourites. I always wanted to be Tevye - so much so, that I had four daughters (gave up on the ambition before going for the fifth). Tradition!

Back on topic, this drivel was down for most of the day yesterday. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
I apologise, in advance.

Hang on - Paul Michael Glaser was in the film as young Perchik, the revolutionary. Must have seen sense.
I apologise, in advance.

The site seems to have settled, and has been online now for 36 hours. However, I don't trust a company that just lets your site go down for hours on end without warning or updates, so I am asking for a refund and then moving Cameldung to a new host not owned by EIG.

Seems like a plan, nice work my friend, now if you could just arrange a weekly delivery of chocolate cookies...

The uptime for this site for the last seven days has been 99.67%. It still needs to be better than that, so I'll keep monitoring.

That's very conscientious of you, Mincey, but try to get some sleep. I'll do a shift for 20 minutes on Thursday.
I apologise, in advance.

You really ought to get that 'f' key fixed on your keyboard.
