I spent all day in a museum yesterday, talking about myself... and I was paid to do it.
Was this part of a living history exhibit?
I guess you could say that, Diane. I was booked to give a series of four hourly (as distinct from four-hourly) talks about cartooning and my career/history in it. This was part of the UK's 'Big Draw' campaign at Bradford's National Media Museum. Events designed to encourage people to draw are held at this time of year all around the country. There was also a little drawing thrown in for light relief. Thankfully, no-one fell asleep apart from me.
I would have attended, if it were not so far.
Do you have "Comic Book Day" (May 2 this year) over there? I volunteered at the library for that this year - we hired a young lady from the city who has a few things published but is still in college, show children and youth the steps of creating cartoon characters. The end results looked good but I was doing face-painting non-stop during the event so couldn't get over to watch. The neat thing was she brought along a couple of her college friends a juggler and a unicycle rider - you don't see many people taking up those occupations these days.
