Diane, are you still president of the Toastmasters and did you finally track down and kill the last one who buggered off to Saskatchewan?

No, I gave up Toastmastering this winter.

It helped me speak in public if I need to, but there is not much cause for that sort of thing in my hermitage. Public speaking is not something that I enjoy but it is a useful tool.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Yes, but you could still track him down and kill him.

It is a generally accepted tenant of Toastmasters that you can leave if you wish, albeit with a heap load of guilt and email invitations to follow.

I never did take the tracking down and murdering courses that were offered.

You should have availed yourself of them: they don't get taught in schools, you know.

Between where we live and the city there is a wooden hut were you can get certification in hunting and trapping, it's called "Trapper Dan's".   On the other side of the highway there is or I should say was a pro dog sled team that practiced along the ditch near the highway.

Do they hunt with bows? That would be a cool skill.

My husband has done in the past and he bought bows and arrows for the boys to target shoot, however the pull weight on them is too hard for our daughter who is now interested in target shooting.

The first decade or so of our marriage we lived on moose and deer meat.

What fun you have! But we could probably learn that all here in our schools: I believe the kids often have moose for dinner.

Do you learn fencing there by any chance?

I have not heard of anyone doing fencing. They must do in the cities.

My father and sister did fencing back in the UK many years ago.
