I remember when I was a kid in Wales and the eggs were spray painted brown. I guess they thought 'whole wheat' coloured eggs were better for you.

To put it simply, white eggs are from white chickens and brown eggs are from brown chickens.The reason you don't see many (or any) white eggs today is because the white chickens aren't the favoured breed anymore.I must admit I hadn't noticed the dearth of white eggs until it was pointed out.

Becuse they're not kept in chicken farms. Go to a chicken farm and you won't see a black chicken, only brown ones.You may wonder why I know so much about chickens....
