9:00am
Woke up on a hard futon bed in a friend's one-bedroom flat that, the night before, had no tea or coffee, no milk, no food and no electricity.

9:01am
Realised that the one-bedroom flat was as messy as the night before, with not one inch of carpet uncovered by papers, ornaments, pens, clothes (some clean), cups, plates, CDs etc.

9:10am
Washed dishes. Had breakfast.

10:15am
Was dragged to yet another craft fair. Stared at tables of jewellery for hours.

11:45am
Was told by friend that we were going.

11:46am
Watched friend see a piece of "nice" jewellery and spend ten minutes talking about it to seller.

11:57am
Finally left craft fair.

12:00am
Caught in traffic for over an hour.

1:40pm
Paid for, fell asleep in and eventually walked out of the most boring film in existence: Darjeeling Ltd.

3:32pm
Spent 15 minutes looking for friend's car.

3:47pm
Spent three minutes trying to get into friend's car.

3:50pm
Caught in traffic for over an hour.

5:00pm
Had enough and decided to return home.

5:15pm
Spent 1 hour and 15 minutes in the cold without a coat at a bus stop waiting for an every-twelve-minutes 490 bus, all of which were clearly stuck in traffic.

6:30pm
Spent 30mins in traffic on a bus.

7:00pm
Got off useless bus and walked one mile to station.

7:25pm
Spent one hour on tube trains.

8:30pm
Spent one hour and thirty minutes on train home.

10:00pm
Got home and decided to have chips.

10:05pm
Chip shop closed.

10:10pm
Marked work; set corrections.

11:15pm
Put on Scrooge cap; said "humbug"; went to bed.

My mansion has 17 floors. I get lost a lot.
Having read through my day again, isn't my wife a lucky woman?

7:00 AM ? got up, let puppies out to pee
7:05 AM made coffee
7:10 AM ate toast with coffee
7:20 AM thought of washing my hair but then decided to wear a touque instead.
7:21 AM brushed dogs, did dishes cleaned up a bit
9:00 AM woke up my sons by yelling down to their rooms ? ?Get up you lazy sods!?
9:00 to 11 ? after they had breakfast, got the kids working sorting out three weeks of recycling that was starting to bulge out of the mop cupboard.
11:00 went to town. Bank, recycling, post office, library, grocery store ? the other grocery store as the first was out of water, movie rental place.

1:00 went to the Festival of Trees ? took in my mincemeat tarts for the bake sale for my daughters dance club ? spent only $20 at the bake sale and got a cherry coffee cake, a tin of brownies, a plate of butter tarts, a plate of toffee bars, a package of chocolate chip cookies, a plate of butter tarts, a bag of chocolate chip and cranberry bars and some thumb print cookies made with butter.

1:30 viewed the trees and gifts and placed three bids ? one was a pity bid for an ugly gingerbread house that nobody had bid on. I got outbid on all three (thank goodness) so we went to A & W and got take-out Mozza burgers. As the kids don?t like tomatoes I ended up with four slices of tomato on my burger, which buggers up the meat/cheese to tomato ratio, cools the burger down too fast and soggies up the bun.

3:00 got home ? read some mail

5:00 as hubby wasn?t home, I stuck in frozen rising crust pepperoni pizza (the food of the gods) for supper ? the kids weren?t really hungry as they had got into the bake sale baking ? Steve ate the whole plate of toffee squares and had ?a bit of a belly ache?.

7:00 piddled about a bit on the internet. The rest is a blank.

9:00 went to bed early to watch my chick flick ?Wimbledon? ? I also have another chick flick ?Bride and Prejudice? to watch today and I  have a mandala to finish off this afternoon.

I should be panicking about Christmas, cleaning, decorating, baking, shopping (bought #1 son?s gift online today), writing out Christmas cards etc ? but I just don?t care this year ? I am thinking of turning Buddhist until January and telling everyone that Christmas is off.

Thanks for asking Roger.

I won't trouble you with the minutiae of my movements for the day, but the following are some significant scenes from what turned out to be a memorable middle section...

Is there a prize?

I apologise, in advance.

You must have gone to Welshpool, Tranquil!

I noticed that blonde piece too. Very attractive.

It's a good job the local Fancy-Dress Shop had more than one Santa outfit!

I was a vegetarian a few years back. Then one Christmas my mother forgot to put my vegetarian roast in the oven and that ended that: I just have turkey.
