What is your favourite Christmas CD?

I really like Wintersong by Sarah McLachlan
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

I do too, Diane. Sarah McLachlan's songs were on the radio a lot at one time (when Buffy the Vampire Slayer was being shown here), then they stopped.   :(

Although it's not a full CD, I liked Fairytale of New York by Kirsty McColl & the Pogues

Me too. And I llike Simon and Garfunkel's "Silent Night" with the news of the Vietnam war building in the background.

I like that too, but I've always felt a bit uncomfortable about the news report of the nurses that were murdered, in the song. I remember the actual event from childhood. I just wonder what relatives must feel about being reminded of it by a piece of "percussion", in a popular song.

I like a version of "In The Bleak Midwinter" that was in the charts in the 60's or 70's, but kind find it on Google or YouTube.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Nige, maybe the relatives were asked for their permission to use the broadcast. I'd like to think so.

It is when I play it full blast it drowns out the terrible racket going on next door.

Would that racket be Mince eating all the sweeties?
