First Impressions
« on: December 12, 2007, 10:47:05 PM »
It's said that first impressions count for a lot. Sometimes unfairly, it must be added. It occurred to me that I've never met many of those who come on here. I've met Tranquil, A Woman, and Rodney Roger, of course.

Actually, I vividly remember the first time I met Roger (although I'd seen his photos in the Beau Peep books). I saw this very handsome, quite charming, intellectual man who's presence quite filled the room. Anyway, I asked this guy to move 'cos, whoever he was, he was blocking my view of Roger slumped across the pub table in the corner.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

So where's the party going to be where we all get to meet each other for the first time, like a blind date?
Don't worry Diane, I'm sure there will be a camera there.

The first time AW and I met Peepsie, he very cordially invited her to play with his equipment. She's never forgotten that. Unfortunately, neither have I.
I apologise, in advance.

Oh yes - my laptop equipment. I'd forgotten about that. It took me ages to get it all working normally again.

Are we going to have a meeting?
I might turn up for that, if the timing is right. It would mean travelling 10,000 miles, and in cramped conditions sleeping next to a strange woman who snores, drools and constantly elbows me in the head when she turns over, but I'm used to that.

I am legendary for turning up at far flung cartoonists meetings, which end up in brawls where cartoonists get flung far.

I'm not kidding, I'll do it.

Me too. I'd certainly be prepared to thumb a lift to any destination within a ten-mile radius of my house.
I apologise, in advance.

I'd love to turn up for such a convention, unless of course it was off the island.

There must be a Doctor Who convention somewhere that we can all go to.

Great idea! You could always phone us from there, briefly, to check if we're enjoying ourselves.

I hear the phone boxes at these events are excellent - much bigger on the inside than the outside.
