Rest and Be Thankful
« on: February 11, 2008, 04:49:32 PM »
Not far from Bute, on the mainland, is a place called Rest and Be Thankful. It's at the top of a long pass between the hills.

I think it's a great name, and much prefer it to something more boring like, say, Wigan, or Hull.

Maybe we should have more place names like it. Nice names, obviously. Something like Sit Down and Shut Up wouldn't work very well.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Maybe.
Comma and space before 'and'?

I want to apologise to Hull. I realise of course that it should be Kingston Upon Hull to give it its full title.

Should there be a comma in Rest and Be Thankful? I haven't seen it written like that, but I'm all for it. I like Westwood Ho! because it has an exclamation mark in it. I'm easily pleased.

In my country, we say "easy plaised".
