I Love My Beau Peep Mug Because...
« on: March 07, 2008, 12:15:22 PM »
I've just finished drinking a coffee from my Beau Peep mug, and realised I've been using it for such a purpose for quite a number of years now. And do you know what? It looks as smart and fashionable as it did on the first day I received it. I would recommend the product to anyone who enjoys the use of drinking equipment, mugs particularly. I'm immensely proud of mine. It's a shame there are only a few left for sale in the world. Probably antiques of tomorrow.

They're incredibly reasonable. Probably cost less that a couple of pints. They last a lifetime. Mince has never bought one.  ::)

Peeps, you forgot to mention that the mugs are also ideal for tea. Mmmm. I can still taste that delicious brew in handy container!
I have to admit they're not great for gin and tonic. As they're predominantly yellow, I couldn't see the lemon.

Did Peepmaster join you for drinks?

Of course. Roger invited all his friends. We had a mug-fest.

Ah - I've just realised the joke you were trying to make. Good effort - I had a little smile.

I use mine in the corner of my desk to hold pens ? I didn?t have to -  it still has its handle and is in super working condition all these years later ? you can just feel the quality there ? it's just that my kids are too hard on the fine china for me to chance putting it in with the common mugs.

Talking about gin and tonic? we get a show from Great Britain on satellite TV, Cynthia Turner?s Perfect Housewife. Well last night a commercial for the show was on showing how Cynthia freezes lemon pieces in her ice cubes so she is never caught out if a visitor wants a gin and tonic. I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. Can you just imagine the horrors of being out of fresh lemon and disappointing your guests? The last person that came to our house unexpectedly, had to step over a pile of excited dogs and said: ?I think one of the little buggers just bit me?.  I wish that I were Cynthia Turner or even just her visitor. Maybe I should go and freeze some lemon slices after all?
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Thanks, Diane. We might use that for our snappy advertising slogan.

Diane, I always freeze lemon slices to put in drinks (not in ice cubes - the frozen lemon is 'ice' enough); I also freeze cubes of left-over wine to put in casseroles and stew. Should this have been put in the women only forum? The subject may be too complicated for the blokes.)

I'm trying to get my head round the concept of "leftover wine". You mean you leave some in the bottle? Deliberately?

Yup! I do. Are you jealous 'coz I have self restraint?

No. It's just that I'm going to have to explain it to Roger.
