Today
« on: May 01, 2008, 11:29:24 AM »
Today there is not a cloud in sight. The day seems dazzling bright after this morning's marking of essays in my room, and the sky a glowing blue.

Today there are lowering clouds, and any second now there will be another burst of pelting rain!

I'm in England - where are you,  ::)?

It seems totally incredible to me that everyone is spending this morning as though it were just like any other.

Normally Mince misses the complete morning laying in bed so this must be all new to him.

About ten minutes ago the first cloud approached our house. It was thought to be an ordinary floating haze, but the next minute there was a huge cloud in the middle of the sky. My dad stepped out to examine what it was - a cloud, 30 yards across, glowing white .... and with faint hints of precipitation coming from within. Suddenly it began raining, pouring, hailing - and my dad feared there was a snow storm inside trying to escape.

Oh, I think we know what's escaped this morning, don't we?
I apologise, in advance.

Well I'm in the sub tropics, and the sky is an electric blue virtually all the time, with little or no cloud.

The heat of the summer is past, today we had bright sun and a crisp chill, and at this time of the year it's the world's best climate, without doubt.

However, the radio and TV are still filled to the gunwhales with extremely unfunny Australian comedians, so you can't have everything. Check out Will Anderson, who is as funny as a kick to the goolies, and just as painful.

Here's what happened next. A few people in the street crept closer to the cloud. A tall funnel of hail dropped suddenly and an invisible wave of cold and wet leaped from man to man and there was a loud scream as each was instantly drenched. Every tree and bush became a mass of drenched twigs at the touch of this savage unearthly hail storm.

That's it. I've finished.

I'm going to rest in the dim coolness of my room and write a few comprehensions before sinking into a restless haunted sleep.

Eeeeyerrsse! It didn't help that I hadn't a clue who anything or anyone he was referring to is, Malcolm, apart form God and Paris Hilton that is, and that was about as funny as piles. He's the the kind of guy you force feed at parties.
I apologise, in advance.
