Lentils, chicken stock, vegetable stock. Maybe garlic and some herbs.
I think I've given out this recipe before but it's simple and delicious.Watercress soup...Heat a little olive oil in a pan and add a medium, chopped onion. Then add a large potato, peeled and chopped. Stir around then bung in a bag of washed, supermarket watercress. Finally add a litre of chicken stock and simmer for about an hour. Season and blitz with a hand-held wotsit or in a blender. There you go.
I could give you an idea, but you'd have to check that they had their own mugs and a kettle.
