After many years of pedestrianing and using public transport, and as a result of necessity (for work travel) and the constant spiralling of bus fares to ridiculous levels, I finally (after many years putting it off) decided to learn to drive. As of yesterday afternoon, I am now fully licensed to be lazy whilst also damaging the environment.

Any congratulations will be accepted; Monetary donations most welcome.

Congratulations, Jack.

I, too, was a late starter in the driving malarky - I was 40 - it was the worst thing I ever did. I put on so much weight that I've never been able to shift it!

That's brilliant news, Jack. I think you should have a Beau Peep mug to celebrate the occasion. Sending the payment via PayPal is best.

And driving.

It's right what Roger says too. He even used to fall off his penny-farthing.

Yes, congratulations Jack!

And don't forget that to turn left at a roundabout, you must be in the right-hand lane, cut in in front of the car in front of you, swerve around the car in front of that narrowly missing the cyclist, and then slam on your brakes when the cyclist waves his fist at you. That might just apply to the drivers around here though... it's amazing what you see people do just to get one car in front (when you are waiting in traffic)...

Well done, that man! Always a good idea to have a Jack in your car.
I apologise, in advance.

Many thanks to you all.

I shall put each of you on my list of people to try and avoid running over.

Jack, in my case, I think you'd better create a new list. Those who you don't want to bounce off...
