Typical.  No one is interested in St George's Day.

Bil, I don't know if you've really taken the national sensibilities of many on this board into consideration.  ..0

I spent this weekend past in Shrewsbury, at the annual International (we had one Australian cartoonist who had managed to overcome volcanic ash to get there) Cartoon Festival. This was my 'Big Board' (8 foot x 6 foot) for this year. Many of the English cartoonists hadn't a clue that it was St George's Day on Friday. I ask you...

I apologise, in advance.

I'm not prejudiced.  I'll be happy to celebrate St Patrick's, St Andrew's, St David, etc.  It's just that not many bother to remember St George.  Do you have an issue with him?

Let's be honest, next to nobody these days actually celebrates any of those days. Only St. Patrick's day gets any kind of recognition, and that's just from people who want to wear a silly green hat and go for a guiness-based piss up. I never met St. Patrick, but I'm pretty sure he didn't dress like a leprechaun.

We could dress up and have a St. Mince day.

That'll teach me not to invent a day.

I've just found this post lying around - I knew I had it somewhere!

Is that a pilchard?

The wife has correctly pointed out that it is, in fact, the Oslo red herring!

It actually vaguely resembles a Perch, but it's close enough to be Pilch Mince.
