The exchange rate is unbelievable at the moment, Lil - 65p to the Aussie dollar. I don't think I've ever seen it that much before. Makes everything overseas very cheap for us. The Aussie dollar is now worth $1 US - amazing. As for mangoes, I wouldn't even look at them at that price. Before Christmas one of the supermarkets was selling them at 3 for $5. The flooding in the north of Queensland is getting worse, which is not good news for fruit and veges, not to mention for the people who live up there.
I love mango chutney, Lil. Not sad at all that you look for them on special. Very sensible - I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy a tray when they were still cheap.
South Australia and parts of Victoria are expecting temps of 40C today - under major bush fire alert. Land of major contrasts, isn't it? We're doing nicely in Sydney - sunny and about 27C at the moment. Hope I'm not speaking too soon!
Have a lovely Hogmanay, everyone!
