Storms.
« on: December 08, 2011, 06:23:17 PM »
Scotland is taking a bit of a battering today with gusts of wind up to 100 mph. Our beloved Peepmaster may well be sailing the Isle of Bute towards Norway as we speak. Here on the East coast, it's also pretty hairy with the Tay road bridge being closed all day and dustbins flying along the street. How's it been for the rest of you?

Nothing a couple of Wind-eze capsules and a family pack of pot pourri can't handle, Roger.

Good luck!

I apologise, in advance.

Hope you're all safe and warm. Sounds pretty hairy.  Stay inside! x

The power was off for most of the day here. By about 4.30 I was fed up with sitting at home in darkness, so went off to the pub and sat there in darkness instead. It is now 2.45 in the morning, my body clock is all to cock, and I'm catching up on emails etc.

Someone is definitely looking after me.....after 27 years living in Killin, I decided it was time to retire and move to Stirling.  I moved last Saturday and the snow started in Killin on the Sunday.  Unpacking going well, judging by the amount of floor space now available although I miss the exercise involved in stepping over and around large boxes.  Safe and warm in my ground floor flat yesterday and will now get to know the neighbourhood better as I search for my dustbin.

Note from the Surgery: apparently no electricity and no phones from early in the day and still the patients turned up for 3.30 afternoon clinic....missing it already!

Phew! Just in time, Lil! Enjoy your retirement, though I'm sure it'll take a while to get used to not going in to work. :-)

Thanks, Joan.  Not had a chance to miss work yet what with unpacking and Christmas around the corner but I look forward to adapting to it!

Hope the move goes well, Diamond Lil. It must be handy having Christmas just around the corner.

I hate to mention this after all your work, Diane, but it's Diamond Lil who's retiring, not Joan. (Canadian woman puts virtual fist through virtual cake).

LOL! I'm so glad my work is done, Diane! I must show this to Trevor, who is outside mowing and edging and hinting that I should be out there helping him. Already told him I would varnish a bit of the cabana ceiling. Guess you've let me off the hook. Thanks for all that effort with the cake, though! ;)
