Christmas competition.
« on: November 24, 2018, 08:05:22 PM »
The Beau Peep Christmas competition has been officially resurrected. How about a pun-based take on famous movies? Come up with a twist on a famous movie title using a Beau Peep theme. For example, a chef goes missing in the Deep South during the American Civil War....EGON WITH THE WIND. Okay, that's awful and I'm sure you can come up with something better. The competition will close on the Monday, 10th of December and I will announce the winner shortly afterwards. The prize will be two, signed original pieces of artwork from Beau and Horace. Enter on this thread as many times as you like. Good luck!

Why is there a comma after *two*?

Why is the word *Mince* missing after the word *announce*?

A)...I have no idea. It certainly wasn't intentional.
B)...That was intentional.

A) It was obviously restless, and shuffled to the left from being bored after the word "signed".

Why is there a comma after *two*?

What's with the asterisks in place of quotation marks?  ..0

Excellent competition. Is it open to pedants?
I apologise, in advance.

Dennis of Thieves - Have you seen the 2018 film Den of Thieves, Roger? Okay, scrub that!

Sopwith's Tables - It's like Aesop's fables but . . . scrub that as well.

Vera of the seven vales - One woman's trek through multiple ...

Can I just win?

I'll start mine with some blatant cheating, as Roger's already spoofed these films especially for the strip:

Llandudno Jones and the Temple of Doom

Rambeau

BTW, Roger’s first post reminded me that if they ever do a modern remake of Gone With The Wind, they should consider having a character called 'Tourette Butler'.   "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a f***."

Nomad Max - he's back and he's just a little miffed.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

I'd LIKE to comment but it's probably fairer that I wait until the closing date.

A starter for 10...

Beau White and the Seven Dwarfs.
The Treasure of the Sierra Mad Pierre.
Bidet the Earth Caught Fire.
When Headline Harry met Sally.
Vera of the Seven Samurai.
Doris, Texas.

I may depend on your accent if these work or not.   I remember Roger saying that the play on words for the 'Just a Fort' forum title here doesn’t really work for those north of the border.   But if your pronunciation skills are fine and these don't work, don't worry, it's probably just because they're crap  ;D
