cold

It's super cold here - my daughter is visiting and we are in survival mode. Things should be like this for three more days - thank goodness for Christmas cheese and chocolates.

I'm typing this with a blanket over my knees and it's 40 degrees warmer here! Stay cosy, Diane!

WOW! Hasn't Canada got round to installing Global Warming yet?

We like to think we're a fairly hardy bunch in Scotland (I still laugh when I remember the times when I lived in Shropshire, and every school was closed before the first snowflake hit the ground), but we have nothing on you, Diane! Put another tree on the log burner. Stay safe!

I apologise, in advance.

Put another tree on the log burner.

Get that global warming started up there.

I imagine Diane and her daughter as the mice in Muppet Christmas Carol.

Two more days of this extreme cold.

I have started a bike and dvd get fit program wherein I peddle 7km on my exercise bike while watching an episode of MASH - I was surprised to find that Kinger doesn't make an appearance until episode 3.

Christmas goodies are still holding strong. :-)

What you need is an exercise machine that powers an electric heater.

It's been so cold I don't even take off my top jumper until after about the 5 km mark lol

Things are warming up and next week is supposed to be back to the warmer than normal temps as we had in the three months before the cold snap. People will be going giddy.

Also signing in to report on the first garden moose sighting of the year.

Great photo, Diane---love it.
Over here, we've had a few days of minus 6, followed by torrential rain and 70 mph winds. Ain't Winter fun?

WIND SPEED UPDATE.
On Sunday night, the Tay Road Bridge (less than a mile from me) was closed after gusts of 107 mph were recorded. I'd call that a tad breezy.

That's unusual to close down a bridge eh, must be really bad. Was this part of Storm Isha?  I was saddened to see the story of the felled trees in the "Dark Hedges" due to the storm in Northern Ireland.
